How SEND Services Can Help

  • Provide tailored strategies to support your child at home and school.

  • Advise on how to work effectively with schools, ensuring your child gets the help they need.

  • Offer guidance on SEND processes, such as securing an EHCP (Education, Health, and Care Plan).

  • Be a sounding board for specific challenges, helping you feel informed and empowered.

  • Support transitions, whether between year groups or schools, to ensure a smoother experience for your child.

What Sessions Look Like

Our SEND sessions are flexible and personalised to meet your child’s and family’s needs.

  • Individual Support: Focused sessions with our SENCo to discuss your child’s challenges and create tailored strategies.

  • Parental Guidance: Sessions dedicated to helping you navigate the SEND system and feel confident advocating for your child.

  • Sessions can take place remotely or in person, depending on your preference and the situation.

Our SENDCo offers expert advice for parents navigating Special Educational Needs. This includes tailored strategies for supporting your child, maximising help from schools, and accessing additional services.

Lisa

Lisa Dempsey

Hi, I’m Lisa, and I’m proud to be the SENCo at Education Allies. With a degree in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Surrey and over 15 years of experience in education, I’m passionate about supporting children and young people who need extra help to thrive.

After qualifying as a teacher in 2007, I gained valuable experience working as a teaching assistant, in a PRU, and as a class teacher in both mainstream and SEN schools. In 2014, I qualified as a SENCo and spent over five years leading SEND provision in a mainstream primary school. Currently, I also work as a Family Liaison Teacher, Pupil Premium Lead, Attendance Lead, and I’m training as a Senior Mental Health Lead.

My approach is holistic and informed by my additional training as a children’s yoga teacher. I believe in creating strong connections with children and their families, working together to unlock their potential. For me, working with children is a privilege, and I’m committed to making a meaningful difference in their lives.

Chalk Play
"Education Allies has been a game-changer for my child. Their mentor not only boosted their confidence but helped them re-engage with school and even activities outside the classroom. I’ve never seen them so motivated—thank you!"
