MENTORS
Why Mentoring Matters
Every young person deserves the tools and support to reach their full potential—whether they’re navigating challenges at school, balancing extracurricular commitments, or just looking for extra guidance to stay on track. Our mentors provide that crucial support. They’re here to help young people feel confident, organised, and prepared to tackle whatever comes their way.
Why Makes Our Mentors Special
Inspirational and Compassionate: They genuinely care about helping young people thrive.
Experienced and Knowledgeable: Many are current or former teachers who understand education and the pressures young people face.
Tailored Support: They connect with your child on a personal level, helping them develop both academically and emotionally.
How Mentors Can Help Your Child
Provide a safe, supportive space to talk about school, social, or personal challenges. Offer practical strategies for staying organised and managing time effectively. Build confidence and motivation to tackle goals inside and outside of school. Support your child for a short time or throughout their educational journey. We take great care to match your child with the mentor who’s the best fit for their personality and needs, ensuring a meaningful and supportive relationship.
What Sessions Look Like
Most sessions are conducted remotely, making it easy and convenient for young people to access support from the comfort of home.
You can work with your mentor to create a schedule that works best for your child. Some prefer longer check-ins once a week, while others benefit from shorter, more frequent sessions. Together, we’ll create a mentoring package that suits your child’s needs.

Nazia Khawaja
I began my teaching journey in 2013. Throughout my career, I have taken on various roles, including Maths Lead, PSHE Lead, and Writing Lead. I have taught Year 6 for several years, successfully leading the delivery of Year 6 SATs, and I am currently a Year 5 teacher and an Assistant Headteacher of Curriculum.
I have extensive experience working with pre-teens and teenagers, guiding them through critical transitions in their education. Whether it's preparing for SATs, managing the shift to secondary school, or navigating the social and emotional challenges of adolescence, I bring a supportive and compassionate approach that helps young people feel understood and empowered.
As a mentor to early career teachers, I take great pride in supporting and guiding new teachers, helping them grow in confidence and skill. Similarly, when working with teenagers, I focus on building trust and creating a safe space where they can explore their strengths, develop resilience, and overcome challenges.
I believe in creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child feels valued, supported, and inspired to achieve their full potential. My passion lies in helping young people unlock their confidence and discover their unique abilities, empowering them to thrive academically, socially, and personally.

I have nearly 20 years of experience as a secondary school music teacher, helping young people discover their inner confidence and expressive voice through the transformative power of music.
While I hold both an MA and a PGCE in Music, my greatest strength lies in my hands-on classroom experience, working closely with students to unlock their potential. I take immense pride in guiding young people to achieve their best and find it incredibly rewarding to witness their growth.
Beyond sharing my knowledge and passion for music, I am deeply committed to the pastoral side of education. I am honored to support and guide students during this pivotal stage in their lives, helping them grow into resilient and self-assured young adults.
With kindness, compassion, encouragement, and enthusiasm, I strive to empower each student to embrace their unique abilities, take pride in their achievements, and build the confidence to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

Beverly Vincent
With a wealth of experience spanning both mainstream education and therapeutic settings, I have dedicated my career to supporting young people to overcome challenges and thrive. As a former Head of Performing Arts, I witnessed the transformative power of creative approaches in helping vulnerable students who were struggling to cope in traditional school environments.

For the past decade, I have specialised in working with young people facing mental health challenges, including eating disorders, extreme social and general anxiety, perfectionism, and low self-esteem. Many of the individuals I work with are neurodiverse, and some are electively mute. My approach incorporates positive psychology techniques and personalised, interactive programmes tailored to their needs. These may include inspirational film extracts, role play, mindfulness exercises, and relaxation techniques. My aim is to help young people "find their voice," build confidence, and develop strategies to reduce anxiety, enabling them to navigate challenges both in and out of the classroom.

Having a neurodiverse son and a perfectionist daughter who has experienced panic attacks, I understand these issues not only as a professional but also as a parent. I am passionate about the importance of early intervention to prevent mental health challenges from severely impacting young people's educational journeys and personal lives.

In addition to my work with young people, I have developed reintegration programmes, liaising with students, parents, and professionals to create bespoke care plans that support a smooth transition back into mainstream education. I have also delivered communication workshops to professionals across various sectors and designed innovative programmes for elderly care home residents, using music and discussion to foster connection and engagement.

My holistic approach focuses on building self-esteem, empowering individuals to overcome obstacles, and helping them reach their full potential.
