SESSION 2: HELPING YOUR CHILD EXPLORE 'WHY' AN EVENT MAKES THEM HAPPY
This module helps children identify and talk about moments that bring them joy, express how they feel about those moments, and understand why they make them happy. We'll use drawing and engaging discussions to explore these positive experiences together.

Welcome to our session focused on discovering joyful moments with your child. Please choose or share a happy image that you can explore together. This activity aims to assist children in recognising and understanding the emotions and reasons behind their happiness linked to positive events. These steps are crafted to encourage you and your child to discuss and express emotions tied to the cheerful moments captured in the image. Enjoy the exploration of happiness together!

Materials Needed:

A chosen or provided happy image

Paper and drawing materials (optional)

Face expression images
Lesson Activity
1. Engaging Discussion:
Start a conversation with your child about the chosen picture. Ask open-ended questions like, "What do you see happening in this picture?" or "What do you think is making the people in the picture happy?" This helps your child think and express their thoughts about the happy moment captured in the image. If they find it difficult to express their thoughts then encourage them to use the face images.

2. Expression of Emotions:
Encourage your child to express how they feel about the happy image. They can use facial expressions to show their emotions or draw their own happy pictures to reflect how the image makes them feel. Drawing materials are optional, but they can help your child visually share their happiness.
